Mombasa, KENYA: Bandari FC center back Sharrif Mohammed has bagged the SportPesa sponsored Sports journalists Association of Kenya SJAK Player of the Month gong for the month of March.
The soft spoken defender overcame competition from Nairobi City Stars ace Oscar Mbugua, Mohuroni Youth goal poacher Wycliffe Ochomo and AFC Leopards winger Kepha Aswani.
Born and bred at Bandari, Sherrif has been a force to reckon at the heart of the Dockers defense in the past two seasons, a run that earned him a maiden call up to the national soccer team Harambee Stars early this year.
His combination with former Sofapaka skipper Felly Mulumba at the backline saw Bandari emerge the meanest club in the league last month after they let in only two goals.
To this affluence, the defender took home 43 inch television, Ksh100, 000 and a personalized trophy courtesy of title sponsors SportPesa.
