Nairobi, KENYA: Kenyans on Tuesday turned up in large numbers to welcome triumphant National Rugby Sevens team but one thing went against expectations.
With disbelief Kenyans watch the local lads touched down at the Jomotto Kenyatta Internal Airport aboard a Qatar Airways plane.
This didn’t go well with fans who took to twitter to voice their disgruntled-ness.
Enraged Kenyans demanded answers why Kenya Airways let slip the big day and instead allow rivals steal the show despite them being the official sponsors of the team.
KQ through CEO Mbuvi Ngunze however responded to the uproar stating “Qatar Airways was the official carrier for the Hong Kong and Singapore legs of the HSBC Sevens series”.
Shujaa arrived on Tuesday from Singapore where they for the first time in history claim the HSBC World Rugby Sevens series title.
