Mombasa, KENYA: Police in Likoni have arrested the woman alleged to be behind the killings of her husband two weeks ago.
The suspect 20-yr-old Diana Kwamboka, was arrested by plain clothes officers in her hide out in Kidunguni area of Likoni on Tuesday afternoon.
The suspect also allegedly killed her two year old kid whom she escaped with and buried in a nearby thicket where police officers say they are guarding as they wait for a pathologist for exhumation.
Confirming the arrest,Likoni police boss Willy Simba told Baraka FM the suspect was arrested in one of the houses where she was hiding.
The woman upon interrogation is said to have lead police to where she had allegedly killed and buried her child.
“We have contacted the government pathologist from Nairobi and he have confirmed that he will arrive on Friday and exhumation of the body is set to be done on Saturday,” Mr Simba said.
The police boss noted that the area where the child is suspected to be buried is under police guard 24 hours till the exercise is completed.
“The suspect will be charged with murder case as she is suspected to have killed her husband after setting their house ablaze and now the mysterious death of her kid,” said the police chief.
Her husband Anthony Mohammed Juma 24-year-old died at Coast general hospital where he was nursing wounds he sustained after her wife set him ablaze over unknown reasons.
Police said the deceased was burnt 80 percent and was in critical condition.
