Kwale, KENYA: Matuga Mp Hassan Mwanyoha has said he has no choice but to respect the courts verdict to hang his son for robbery with violence charges.

Fani Hussein Mwanyoha with Ali Hassan Hussein were convicted by a Kwale court last week for robbing Polish tourist Peter Schadowsky while armed with a knife.

“The court gave its verdict and so we just accepted. However, we cannot tell whether he is guilty or not”,he said.

Mwanyoha said his son insists he is innocent of the charges.

However, Mwanyoha says the family has already appealed the verdict.

“He has denied committing the crime. We don’t have anything to add on that.We are waiting for the outcome of our appeal,” he added.

They were found guilty of stealing a bag, an LG mobile phone a pair of spectacles, a company ID card and five credit cards; all valued at Sh 14,625 on August 19 last year at Diani .
