Nairobi, KENYA: A brace from Rwandan skipper Jacques Tuyisenge is all that Gor Mahia needed to edge Thika United 2-1 in their midweek fixture at the Nyayo National stadium on Wednesday.
Thika who are yet to test victory this season opened the scoring through Kibwana Mwinyi 26 minutes to the match before Tuyisenge retaliated with two goals to hand the reigning champions their second triumph on the spin.
Tuyisenge who was making his second appearance with K’ogalo since completing a sh 4 million move, now boast of three league goals under his belt having notched on his debut.
The victory is Gor Mahia’s second this season under new head coach Brazilian Jose Marcelo Ze’ Maria who replaced Frank Nuttal at the helm late last month.
With the success K’ogalo jumped to sixth in the league standings on 10 points after seven outings, four points adrift of joint log toppers Tusker FC, AFC Leopards and Mathare United.
