Manchester United maintains top four push with Everton win

London, ENGLAND: Anthony Martial scored the important goal as Manchester United beat visiting Everton by a solitary goal on Sunday to maintain their push for a Champions League berth.

The victory saw United moved to within one point behind fourth placed and arch rivals Manchester City who have 54 points with seven matches to play.

Elsewhere, Leicester City’s opened a seven point lead at the summit after they edged Southampton 1-0 thanks to skipper Wes Morgan’s strike.

The Foxes took full advantage of Tottenham’s 1-1 draw with Liverpool on Saturday and are now four wins away from their maiden title should other results go their way.

Meanwhile, Arsenal continued their fainted title hopes with a 4-0 drubbing of Watford on Saturday.

The Gunners remains third on the log with 58 points, 11 inferior of run-away champions Leicester City though Arsenal Wenger’s charges have a game in hand.

Other Saturday’s matches saw Chelsea trounce relegation bound Aston Villa 4-0 to move 10th on the table with 44 points, one a drift of 9th placed Liverpool.
