Mombasa, KENYA: Journalists from NTV Mombasa on Thursday suffered a big blow after thieves allegedly broke into their vehicle and walked away with expensive valuables.
Ntv’s Coast Regional reporter Peter Mwangangi and Senior Cameraman Karim Rajan had gone for lunch at a restaurant near Serani High school, Mombasa; they left their car at a nearby parking only to come back and find it vandalized.
According to Mwangangi’s post on Facebook they lost a lot of valuable stuff.
“Thugs have just broken into our car (NTV) at a street in Mombasa and made away with a bag containing very crucial and expensive equipment (The mic with the NTV logo, batteries, battery charger, lights, mic stand, cables and many other items gone.” Posted Mwangangi.
Here are some of the photos of the crime scene:
They have been reports of a cartel that is robbing people in Mombasa by breaking into their parked cars.
Two weeks ago it was reported that the thieves allegedly broke into Citizen TV’s vehicle but luckily nothing was stolen.
Some of the stolen items (Mic, batteries, bag) belonging to the NTV journalists were on Friday reported to have been dumped outside Central Police station, however Karim’s personal items were still missing.
