Nairobi, KENYA: Posta Rangers striker Timothy Otieno has bagged Sport Journalist Association of Kenya SJAK/SportPesa award after he was named the player of the month for February on Wednesday.
His superb run last month where he scored three premier league goals in as many matches saw him earn a first time call up to the National soccer team Harambee stars this month.
The on loan Gor Mahia forward garnered 26 points of the votes casted by the SJKA panel fending of competitions from Muhoroni Youth forward Wycliffe Ochomo, AFC Leopards midfielder Andrew Tololwa and Mathare United hitman Obadiah Ndege.
To this effect he took home a cash prize of Ksh 100,000 a personalized trophy and a 42’ LG television with his club Posta Rangers rewarded Ksh 50,000 for his services.
The award was initiated last season by Sport Journalist Association of Kenya SJAK in collaboration with sport betting firm SportPesa to reward best performing players in every month of the season.
