Melbourne, AUSTRALIA:- Novak Djokovic once again showed his Tennis prowess, triumphing Roger Federer 6-1, 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 in Thursday’s semifinals to reach his sixth Australia Open decider.
The world number one’s message was clear from the onset, winning 12 of the first 14 points en route to a two-set lead in just 54 minutes before fading off in the third set.
Federer currently ranked third, failed to cling on as Djokovic clawed back to claim the last two sets condemning the Swiss to his 14 Grand Slam winless run, extending the longest drought of his career.
The success means Djokovic is now on course for a fifth consecutive Grand Slam final and 19th overall, behind Federer (27) and Rafael Nadal (20).
The Serbian now awaits the winner of Friday’s other semifinal between British best Andy Murray and eighth ranked Canadian Milos Raonic.
In the women’s semifinals, Serena Williams coast to her seventh career Australia Open final after brushing aside Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland.
The world number one took 64 minutes on court to claim a 6-0, 6-4 victory over the fourth seeded Radwanska, and will now participate in her 26th grand slam –gearing for historic 22 majors.
