If you are the type that likes shaming your spouses through social media, you better think twice as a woman was ordered to pay Ksh 1.25 M to her estranged husband for defaming him on Facebook.
Facecrooks.com reports that Australian woman, Robyn Greeuw, posted the following on her Facebook profile, making her get into trouble:
“had separated from Miro Dabrowski after 18 years of suffering domestic violence and abuse. Now fighting the system to keep my children safe.” Posted Greeuw
According to the judge who oversaw the case, Greeuw did not provide enough evidence to make this claim.
“Even applying the extended definition of the words ‘domestic violence and abuse,’ as urged by Ms Greeuw, she has failed to prove any essential or substantial truth to the stings of the defamation imputations,” he said.
She was ordered by the judge to pay $12,500 (about 1.25 million kshs ) to Dabrowski for defaming him.
Dabrowski works as a school teacher and several witnesses in the trial said their perception of him changed for the worse after reading the post.
