Kenya’s Rugby Sevens’ head coach Benjamin Ayimba has recalled former skipper Humphrey Kayange and current captain Andrew Amonde to his squad a head of the forthcoming Wellington and Sydney legs.
Amonde withdrew from Dubai and Cape Town series following the death of his sister while Kayange, was on recovery after being sidelined.
Ayimba is upbeat the duo will add experience to his charges as they head to New Zealand and Australia in the weekend of January 30-31 and February 6-7 respectively.
However, the surprise omission in the 12-man travelling squad is Olympics qualifiers hero Winger Ombachi who has been relegated while Nakuru RFC’s Donald Oluoch is set for debut.
The team is scheduled to depart for New Zealand on Sunday, for the Wellington series where they are drawn in Pool D alongside Australia, Canada and Portugal.
