President Uhuru Kenyatta has assured Kenyans that his government is determined to defeat any terror group out to threaten the country’s security.
In his state of the nation address from Statehouse Mombasa , in reference to recent attacks on Kenyans soldiers in Somalia by Al-shaabab militants , The President said the attack has made the country much stronger and united to defeat acts of terrorism both in and outside Kenya.
“Kenya will not be shaken by acts of cowardice from Al-Shaabab .Their action has made us strong and resolved to defeat them.” He said.
The President also asked all Kenyans to unity and stand behind the Kenya Defense Forces KDF, by praying for them as they continue to protect and defend the security of the country and that of her neighbors.
“Kenyans must understand that the country needs all of us , let us all stand behind our defense forces and pray for our heroes” the President added.
The President spoke as bodies of soldiers brutally killed during Somalia attacks begin to arrive in the country from Somalia.
Four bodies arrived Monday night from Somalia on board a military aircraft in readiness for burials.
16 KDF soldiers injured in the attack have also been airlifted to Nairobi for special treatments.
On Tuesday, President Uhuru directed Cabinet Secretary for defense Rachel Omamo to prepare a decent burial for the heroes killed in the Somalia attacks.
The exact number of Kenyan soldiers killed in the attack is yet to be unknown.
