The government has provided motorcycles to chiefs in Likoni sub-county in the ongoing operation to boost security in the area.
Likoni deputy county commissioner Rose Chege who received the three motorcycles at her office in Mtongwe praised the move saying insecurity in Likoni will now improve.
The motorcycles will be distributed to three chiefs of Shika Adabu,Mtongwe and Likoni respectively.
“We thank the government for the move,chiefs will work to their best,they will perform by responding to distress calls first.what we are asking for our chiefs is to work better in their areas of duty” said Ms Chege.
The county commissioner called upon area residents to cooperate with the law enforcers to curb insecurity cases in the Likoni sub-county.
Meanwhile, a combined team of police officers combed the area of Shika Adabu in search of a lost gun reportedly snatched from the officer who was killed by suspected gangsters on Tuesday.
This was after intelligence reports indicated that three suspicious men were spotted in the area of shonda,shika Adabu with fire arms.
The suspects are also said to have met an elderly woman but warned her not to report to police about their whereabouts.
Likoni deputy county coommisioner Rose Chege confirmed to Baraka fm that there was an operation going on in search of the gun.
“We are hope full we will get back the government gun by all means,no negotiation a all and we are asking those criminals to return it before we reach them’’said Mrs. Chege.
