The Nairobi County Chief of Staff George Wainaina failed to appear in court on Friday to take plea on bribery case facing him after being hospitalized.
His lawyer Cliff Ombeta told the Nairobi Court that his client fell sick on Thursday night and was admitted at the Karen Hospital.
Ombeta therefore said Mr.Wainaina would be fit to appear in court at a later date.
He however argued that his client was scheduled to appear before EACC on Friday morning and not court.
A document presented before the courts showed that Mr.Wainaina has been hospitalized suffering from acute muscle and joint pains alongside general body weakness.
The magistrate also directed Mr. Ombeta to produce medical reports when the accused appears in court on 15TH January ,2016.
However, his secretary Roselyne Oluoch appeared before Principal Magistrate Felix Kombo, charged with two accounts.
She was charged with conspiracy to commit an offence of corruption by offering Kshs.1 million to Nairobi Senator Mike Mbuvi Sonko .
Oluoch was also charged with a second account of being found in possession of Kshs.500,000 which was part of the bribe.
She denied the two charges and was released on a cash bail of Kshs.500, 000 or a bond of Kshs.1.5 million.
Her case will be mentioned on 15th January, 2016.
The two were arrested on Wednesday 6th January, 2016 by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption detectives over claims of trying to bribe the Senator Mike Sonko with 1 million Kenya shillings in order to stop him from raising questions concerning corruption in the county.
