Kenya’s Harambee Stars have dropped three places down from 98th position they held in December 2015 to 101, according to the latest FIFA rankings released Thursday.
This can be attributed to their dismal performance in the 2015 Cecafa senior challenge cup where they fell short at the hands of Rwanda in the quarter finals.
Uganda remains the best ranked team in the Cecafa region, occupying 62nd position, their best ever position in their history since the inception of the Rankings.
Zambia is second on 67th spot, Rwanda (91st), and Tanzania (126th).
In the continent Ivory Coast maintains the podium, 19th globally, followed by Algeria, Ghana, Cape Verde and Tunisia in that order while Belgium, Argentina, Spain, Germany and Chile remain the top five teams globally.
