Orange Democratic Movement announced on Wednesday that it will vett its aspirants for the Malindi by elections on Tuesday next week a head of the party nominations on 16th January.
The party National Elections Board has already invited applications from aspirants for the March 7th Malindi Parliamentary (National Assembly) by-election.
According to the ODM board chairperson Judith Pareno, aspirants will be required to submit their applications to the Orange House in Nairobi or Malindi office as from Wednesday 6th until Monday 11th January 2016.
This comes as Jubilee Alliance Party top officials lead by Deputy President William Ruto continue to criss-cross Malindi and Kilifi county in general in readiness for official campaigns period set to begin early next month.
Jubilee has already marked Philip Charo, a prominent Kilifi businessman to vie for the seat come 7th March, 2016 by election.
The Malindi by election is seen to be a deciding factor for political popularity between Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi and Malindi North MP Gedion Mungaro who has already shown his interests for the county governorship seat come 2017.
Political experts also see the Malindi by-election as campaign ground for CORD and Jubilee a head of August 2017 General Elections.
The Malindi Parliamentary seat felt vacant after President Uhuru Kenyatta appointed the former area MP Duncan Kazungu to the cabinet as Mining Cabinet Secretary.
