Police in Coast region plans to set temporary police posts in all public beaches in region during the festive season.

“The containers will house armed police officers at the pirates -one of most attractive beaches to visitors coming from upcountry, the same applies to South Coast public beaches”, said Mr. Wanjohi.

The police boss noted that there were sufficient security personnel to take care of the coastal residents during and after this year’s festive season.

In a separate incident regional police were Friday persuing suspected robbers linked to stealing registration number plates from some United Nations’s vehicles along Malindi -Kilifi road.

Police have given the registration numbers as 45 UN 77K, 45UN 130K, and 45 UN 412 -all stolen from around Mombasa.

Coast region Criminal investigation officer Henry Ondik hinted to Baraka FM that investigation has been launched, for fear of terrorists misusing the diplomatic car registration numbers.
