Chelsea lost to Liverpool 1-3 in a clash that many football pundits ‘dubbed’ a make or break for the under-fire boss Jose Mourinho.
Mourinho has been in the limelight for all the wrong reasons this season following his recurrent row with English Football governing body FA not to mention Chelsea’s dismal start to the season that has left their title defense hanging on a slim thread.
The Blues are languishing at position 15th, 11 points shy of log leaders Manchester City who are on 22 points from 10 outings.
The situation which puts Mourinho’s job on debate with British back-pages reporting that Chelsea owner Roman Abromovic is ready to fire the Portuguese tactician with former Real Madrid manager Carlo Anceloti, Andre Villas Boas and Atletico Mdrid’s Diego Simeon viewed as the possible replacements.
Worse enough , Mourinho and his assistant were forced to watch the match from the stands after being red-carded for questioning referee’s decision to send off Nemanja Matic in their 2-1 loss to west Ham last weekend.
Other matches this weekend saw Manchester United travel away to Crystal Palace while Swansea hosts high-flying Arsenal.
