The Government is set to construct a High court and two lower Courts in Kwale County in a bid to allow many residents particularly those in the interior parts of the county to access court services easily.
High Court Judge Aggrey Muchelule announced early this week that the law courts will be constructed in Lungalunga and Kinango where land has already been set aside by the Kwale county government.
“The exercise is expected to kick off in the course of this year however we still don’t have a clue on the amount that will be used to construct the three buildings since the amount will depend on the structure of each court “ Muchelule said.
He further said the central government is working on increasing the number of the High Courts in Kenya from the current 34 to a number which he did not disclose.
He further said a High Court Judge will be deployed in Kwale immediately the construction process will be complete.
Judge Mchelule was accompanied by Judge Smokin Wanjala and Judge Mohammed Warsame who toured the county early this week.
