This follows the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission directive that Ali Hassan Joho’s file on corruption related charges  concerning Mwembe Tayari market be probed again. .

Director of Public prosecution Keriako Tobiko directed EACC to probe the file concerning allocation of Mwembe Tayari market public market ,XVIII /MI/552  saying  there are critical areas ought to be reexamined , before the commission comes up with the final decision on the  matter.

“Upon independent review of the file the DPP noted a number of critical areas that need  to be covered before the final decision can be made. The DPP therefore directed EACC  to have the areas covered  upon conclusion ,the file re submitted “ he said on Thursday.

Joho  was linked to the allocation of the Mwembe Tayari Market to Nawal Business Centre.

Meanwhile Tobiko hinted that after careful analysis of  energy  cabinet secretary Davies Chirchir and Kenya Power managing director Ben Chumo file, he directed that it be re-opened indicating  that Ethics and anticorruption commission was still pursuing the evidence.

Chirchir and Chumo are accused of using  their positions to fraudulently obtaining 90 million shillings which later disappeared mysteriously from Kenya pipeline company to Kenya Power and lightning company accounts after being transferred for unknown business.

“Upon careful analysis of the evidence there in, it was noted that some  crucial evidence was not in the file .upon inquiry the EACC had said that it is pursuing the said evidence .” Tobiko stated.

Tobiko had earlier closed their file for lack of evidence on the matter a decision which the commission has rescinded
