Gor Mahia continued with their unbeaten run in the league with a convincing 2-0 win over Sofapaka in a midweek premier league clash played at City Stadium.

Goals from Ali Abondo and the towering forward Michael Olunga in either side of the half saw K’Ogallo complete a double over Sofapaka this season having beaten them in the reverse fixture.

Veteran John Baraza could have pulled one back for Sofapaka from the spot after Gor Mahia defender was judged to have handled in the box but the latter’s effort turned futile with Bonface Oluoch stepping up to save his poorly taken penalty.

Following the performace, Sofapaka remain winless in their last seven outings, while Gor Mahia is only three matches away from completing the season unbeaten.

Earlier, Tusker halted Salim Babu’s fine form since taking charges at the helm of SoNy Sugar with a slim 1-0 defeat at Awendo Stadium.

Jese Were score all the important goal to hit the 20 mark as the Brewers pick their first win since parting ways with head coach Francis Kimanzi.

The win lifts Tusker to fifth spot on 41 points, while SoNy stay 11th with 34 points.
