The 2012 Kenya Premier League champions Tusker FC head coach Francis Kimanzi has quit his position following a series of poor performance.
The former Harambee Stars and Mathare United tactician, joined Tusker in 2013 tasked to guide the Brewers to domestic glory which they last lifted in 2012, but not even the handsome financial status of the Ruaraka based club nor his good papers could help him a chieve that.
Kimanzi’s decision comes barely four days after Tusker were knocked out of the GoTv Shield Cup tournament by division one side Nzoia United, leaving the Brewers with only KLP Top8 hopes after failing to catch up with Gor Mahia in the league.
Assistant Leornard Odipo has been elevated to take charges on interim basis, while Kimanzi whose contract expires in December will remain on payrol until the end of the season when Tusker will decide his fete.
Tusker are currently placed sixth on the log with 38 points, and are on a seven match winless streak with three games to spare before 2015 campaign’s curtain comes down.
