Central Kenya Members of Parliament continued on Wednesday with their political pressure to have Deputy President William Ruto and Journalist Joshua Sang cases be dropped at ICC, the Hague .
They therefore asked people suspected to have mastermind the witness coaching scheme to come out and divulge evidence.
Under the Central Kenya Parliamentary caucus, the legislators said those suspected people may be holding crutial evidence which might assist in fast-tracking the Ruto and Sang cases at ICC ..
“Today we are asking anybody be it ODM or former PNU ,if you have any info of who fixed we encourage you to come out and truth shall set us free,” Said Dagoretti North legislator Dennis Waweru we led the MPs.
Waweru warned CORD legislators that jubilee coalition wont allow them to take advantage of the situation for political supremacy.
Senate majority leader Kithure Kindiki said that they are planning to reverse application of rule 68 at the ICC.
“We will continue applying legal pressure, political pressure and dipomatic pressure and that is why in November we will mount massive campaign before assembly of state parties to ensure that application of rule 68 of recanted evidence is not done retro actively” said Kindiki
The legislators reacted few days after Cord leader Raila Odinga challenged President Uhuru Kenyatta to order his close allies to swear affidavits disclosing the names of witnesses they recruited to fix Deputy President William Ruto.
Mr Odinga had named Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria, Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP) vice-chairman David Murathe, lawyer Kamotho Waiganjo and one Njenga Mwangi as the people who recruited witnesses to implicate Mr Ruto in the crimes committed during the 2007 post-election violence.
The pressure comes as MPs allied to Jubilee Coalition demand for opening of the Waki report and envelop to reveal to Kenyans real names of people allegedly participated or assisted in planning and execution of the 2007 post election violence which saw more than 1000 people dead while properties worth millions destroyed.
