Manchester United summer acquisition Antony Martial has been named PFA Fan’s player of the month for August/September following his impressive start to life in the Premier League.
The 19-year-old French youngster made headlines after the Red Devils secured an initial fee of £36m on the Deadline Day to price him out from League one side AS Monaco making him the world’s most expensive teenager.
The Frenchman later lived up to his huge price tag scoring three goals in his first two Premier League games, as well as putting in a man-of-the match performance in United’s 3-0 win over Sunderland.
Leicester Riyad Mahrez and West Ham’s new signing Dimitri Payet were alongside Martial on the final three players shortlisted for the Premier League award.
This was reduced from initial shortlist that also included Manchester City’s duo of Vincent Kompany and David Silva, Grazaino Pelle(Southampton), Jamie Vardy(Leicester City) and Callum Wilson of Bournemouth.
