Sergio Aguero netted five goals in Manchester City 6-1 demolish of Newcastle United at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday to leapfrog rivals Mancheter United at the top of the log.
Newcastle went ahead in the 18th minute through Aleksandar Mitrovic, before Aguero pegged back City three minutes before half time.
The Argentine put the hosts in the lead two minutes after the interval before netting his hat-trick one minute later.
Kevin De Bryune made it 4-1 for Manchester City, before Aguero grabbed his fourth and fifth goals two minutes within the hour mark to hand the hosts a comfortable 6-1 win over Newcastle who are yet to record a victory this season .
Earlier, Crystal Palace coast past West Brom 2-0, Sunderland and West Ham shared the spoils with a two all draw, while Leicester City spanked Norwich 2-1.
The triumphs leaves Manchester City at the summit of the league on 18 points, two better than second placed Manchester United who will face off with Arsenal on Sunday at Emirates stadium.
