The water and sewage company KWAWASCO clients can now get instant notifications of their water bills through their mobile phones anywhere in the county.
The mobile meter reading application launched early Thursday at a hotel in the South Coast is expected also to save time in water meter readings, according the company.
Mr Hamisi Mwalele, the KWAWASCO ICT expert said the application will now allow clients to get notifications via SMS through mobile phones on their current meter readings, the expected billing and the officer who carried out the billing process.
“The Application will also allow the clients to be notified via sms on their current meter readings, their expected bill at that time and who took the reading to be able to query incase a problem occurs on the bill after the official bills are printed from the main office’’ he said.
The application is also expected to work even in absence of network coverage as the data will automatically be relayed when network comes to normal.
