President Uhuru Kenyatta has awarded Baraka FM a prestigous trophy for having the best stand in this year’s Mombasa International ASK show.
Baraka FM was on Wednesday declared overall best in electronic and media services category in the International Agricultural show.
The President handed over the trophy to Baraka FM through the company’s Operations Manager Babra Mkala during official opening of the Mombasa International Show at Mkomani grounds.
Baraka FM stand won the ASK judges eyes due to the company’s active roles in Enhancing Technology in Agriculture and Industry for Food Security and National Growth through its news and information platform.
The news of the award was received with jubilations at Baraka FM offices both Mombasa and Nairobi with staff and managers terming it a great blessing and a reward for the work well done.
“Ahaaa! .. we have made it. Our hard work as a team in organizing this show has bore sweet fruits, we thank God” said Babra Mkala, Baraka FM Operations Manager.
The trophy adds up to many other trophies and medals Baraka FM has scooped in various categories as a result of its vibrant and active roles in engaging the public on development issues through talk-shows and news.
Baraka FM’s senior news reporter and anchor George Otieno has already been nominated for the most prestigious journalists award in Africa- CNN Multichoice African Journalist Award.
Goerge is among 27 Journalists in Africa nominated for the award whose winner will officially be announced and awarded during this year’s CNN Multichoice Africa Journalist Award dinner set to be held in Nairobi early October.
