The latest development comes just a few days after security officers destroyed drug-laden ship off the coast in renewed efforts to combat drug trafficking.
Police have already arrested several suspected illicit drug traffickers in various counties at the Coast since Thursday when the directive was issued by President Uhuru Kenyatta in Mombasa.
Source confided to Baraka FM that a number of suspected people known to be part of the drug trafficking cartels in the region have gone under ground for fear of arrests.
Police intensified crackdown through coast region immediately the President issued the order directing arrests of suspected drug dealers.
However, a Tanzania national suspected to be ferrying drugs worth unknown value to Mombasa was arrested on Friday, barely few hours after President Uhuru Kenyatta declared war on drugs in the region.
The Suspect Hamisi Mohammed 34 was arrested at a police check point in Lungalunga, Kwale county while travelling in a minibus from Tanzania to Mombasa.
The suspect who was together with other passengers in the minibus became suspicious after police officers manning the road block stopped the bus for the normal checks.
Msambweni OCPD Joseph Omijah told Baraka fm the suspect was carrying 450 grammes of heroine stuffed in a suitcase.
”Our officers have been carrying routine check at this point,after the bus was stopped, this man alone out become nervous and we had to do a thorough search only to get the drugs stuffed in suitcase,”said Mr. Omijah.
Mr Omija added that police have intensified crackdown on suspects ferrying drugs adding that they will not leave any chances until they win war against drugs as directed on Thursady by the President.
Elsewhere police in likoni Majengo mapya arrested four other suspects in connection with drugs trafficking.
Police launched a crackdown in areas said to be drug dens and arrested the suspects with various types of drugs.
Likoni OCPD Willy Simba said the suspects Salim Omar, Boniface Mutuku, Michael Kamau,and Rashid Salim were arrested by police on Friday.
Simba said the suspects were arrested with a number of sachets of heroine and cocaine worth thousands of shillings.

Early last month police had to use live bullet in Mtongwe area after they were repulsed by drugs suspects ,where by one of the officers who was in the operation was injured.
Police shot and killed one suspect after they became violent while another suspect was injured.
