Twenty times English Premier League champions Manchester United opened EPL third week fixtures this Saturday with a clear draw  to Newcastle United.

United’s quests of continuing with their early lead in the season failed to materialize after they ended up 0-0 with Newcastle.

This was despite having made it two wins out of two matches while Newcatsle desperately hoped for a positive result after failing to pick maximum points in their two opening matches.

Other matches of the day saw Crystal Palace hosts Aston Villa as Spurs traveling away to Leicester City While West Ham United welcome premier league new boys Bournemouth.

On Sunday defending Champions Chelsea will travel away to Westbrom  hoping to bounce back to winning ways after being whacked 3-0 by Manchester City last weekend.

The Blues started their title defence on a lackluster performance managing only one point from two outings but boss Jose Mourinho is optimistic his charges can turn things around this weekend.

Elsewhere 2013/14 champions Manchester City will be hopeful for a win away to Everton at Goodison park. The Citizens are tipped to rival Chelsea for the title this campaign having started the season on a high.

City have won as many matches and with the acquisition of £49 million rated winger Raheem Sterling and the capture of Argentina defender Nicolas Otamendi from Valencia on £32.5 million,City
is indeed a serious title contender.

Southampton will wrap up weekend’s fixtures with an away tie to premier league new comers Watford while the Gunners – Arsenal will have to wait for Monday night football to face off with Liverpool at Emirates.
