The English Premier League defending champions Chelsea was whipped by Manchester City 3-0 at Etihad on Sunday.

Manchester City’s dominance from the first whistle bore fruits in half-hour mark as Sergio Aguero beat defensive duo of Gary Cahill and John Terry to curl home from the edge of the box after being played by David Sylva.

Captain Vincent Kompany doubled the lead in the 79th minute before Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho confirmed the victory five minutes to stoppage.

Chelsea could have reduced the deficit following a huge ball possession they enjoyed in the second half, but failed to convert their chances.

Belgian Eden Hazard came close within the box but squandered the opportunity as his shot went straignt at Joe Hart.

Unlucky Diego Costa almost pulled one back for The Blues but his effort rattled the woodwork.

The ever vocal Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho termed the defeat ‘fake’ claiming that the best team lost.

The results, however, leave The Blues with only one point from two matches having shared the spoils with Swansea on a two all draw in the opening day of the campaign.

Elsewhere an own goal by Delaney helped Arsenal beat Crystal Palace 2-1 to earn their first victory this season.

Olivier Giroud put the Gunners ahead in the 16th minute, but Crystal Palace restored parity 12 minutes later through Joel Ward.

Arsenal saw their luck worked out as they escape with a 2-1 away from home thanks to Delaney 58th minute own goal.

Arsenal came into the encounter from the back of a 2-0 lose to London rivals West Ham in the first day of the season infront of the home fans.
