Kenya’s reigning football champs Gor Mahia are on their way to clinching back to back titles if results from their matches in the Sportspesa league are anything to go by.

Kogallo whipped minnows City stars 3-1 in a rather one sided match played at the Nyayo National stadium on Saturday.

Gor Mahia looked tired and exhausted but ensured victory over Stars with Rwandan International Meddie Kagere breaking the deadlock with a perfect header in the first half.

The league’s 2nd top scorer Michael Olunga -with 15 goals tally-added the second goal through a spot kick after the opponents player handled the ball in the box.

Olunga added the third goal several minutes later with Gor dominating possesions from the start.

However Jimmy Bageya pulled one back for his side deep in the second half after a brilliant dribbling.

Gor Mahia are still at the top of the league boasting 55 points from 21 games.

Ulinzi stars are second on 44 points after 23 matches.

Meanwhile goals from David King’atua were enough for Bandari to end their four matches winless run and condemn strugglers Thika United to their seventh straight defeat in Thika Stadium.

The hosts went infront in the 22nd minute through Raymond Omondi before David Kinga’atua punished his former employer to equalized for Bandari nine minutes before the break.

King’atua ensured that the Dockers collect maximumu points away from home with 87th goal through free-kick after Shaban Kenga had been fouled outside the box by Thika’s Luvutsi Michael.

The victory leaves Bandari sixth in the standings on 34 points, one point shy of fifth placed AFC Leopards, while Thika remain 11th on 25 points from 23 outings.
