The three students from Stephjoy Boys High School were accused of participating in the burning the school dormitory where two of their colleagues died and several others sustained injuries.
High court judge Ngenye Macharia ordered that the suspected students be remanded for 10 more days to allow police to continue with investigations.
This is after the prosecution sought 14 days to complete investigations.
The judge in her ruling on Monday however, set strict conditions for detaining the students at Tigoni police station.
Justice Ngenye directed the police boss at Tigoni to ensure the students are kept in well maintained cell cubes, furnished with clean mattresses and that no adults should be allowed to visit the suspects unless permission from parents is granted.
On the other hand the prosecution has been directed to do thorough investigations within the ten days.
The students are expected back in court on 21st August 2015.
