Reigning Kenya Premier League Champions Gor Mahia smacked Bankers KCB 6-1 in a seven goal thriller match played at Nyayo National Stadium on Sunday to stretch their unbeaten lead.

Fresh from the CECAFA Kagame Cup where they finished second, Frank Nuttal charges took an early lead through Michael Olunga in the 16th minute before Rwandan International Meddie Kagere doubled the lead 11 minutes to half time.

KCB ace Mark Odhiambo made it 3-0 for K’Ogallo with an own goal ten minutes after the break but forward Muingai Kiongera reduced the deficit for the Bankers two minutes later.

Meddie Kagere curled home Innocent Wafula’s cross restoring the three goal lead for Gor Mahia in the 71st minute before Ugandan midfielder maestro Khalid Aucho made it 5-1 four minutes later.

Enock Agwanda’s thunderous shot in the dying minutes of the game sealed the 6-1 victory for K’Ogallo as the
defending champions bring their tally to 49 points from 19 outings with three matches in hand while KCB remain 13th on the log with 20 points.

Elsewhere Ulinzi Stars blew away their chances of reducing Gor Mahia lead to six points with a 1-1 draw to Sony Sugar at Awendo.

The soldiers are currently placed second on 41 points from 22 matches.

At Mombasa county stadium Bandari settled for a barren draw with Chemelil.
