The much awaited English Premier League – EPL 2015/16 season kicked off in style on Saturday with Manchester United beating Tottenham Hot Spurs 1-0 at Old Trafford.
Manchester United got an early win after Totenham’s Kyle Walker poked the ball into his own net while attempting to tackle Wayne Rooney.
United started poorly last season with a lose at home to Swansea but coach Luis van Gaal is confident his charges will not repeat the same mistake when they face off with the Mauricio Pochettinho side.
Elsewhere Champions Chelsea starts their title defense at home against Swansea.
The Blues are heading to this fixture from back to back defeats after going down 1-0 to their rivals Arsenal in Community Shield last weekend.
They were later humbled by Italian side Fiorentina by the same margin in a test match staged at Stamford Bridge.
Other Saturday fixtures will see Premier League new boys Bournemouth take on Aston Villa while Everton will be at home to welcome Watford.
Leicester City will be up against Sunderland while Norwcih face off Crystal Palace.
Arsenal will clash with West Ham United in a London derby at Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
The Gunners are in a good shape and are tipped to be title challengers this season if their current form is anything to go by.
Arsenal edged their arch rivals Chelsea 1-0 in Community Shield tie to clinch their first silverware this season and manager Arsen Wenger believes he can bank on this to lift the League title this campaign.
