Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho unveiled the location on Thursday a head of the planned construction next year.
Joho said project will not only make the lives of Mombasa residents easier but definitely boost Mombasa County as a HOT BED of investment, vibrant culture and wonderful hospitality.
The proposed construction work is set to run from the public beach at the end of Abdel Nasser Road on Mombasa Island to a point on the Mainland near Nyali Road.
This will also include development of corridor Roads on the Mombasa island side namely Abdel Nasser Road and potentially Kisauni Road.
“Corridor roads on the mainland side include creating a new corridor through Kongowea to join onto Links Road and an additional link from the bridge to Nyali Road, to allow for a solution in mitigating risk of delays from acquiring land for a new corridor through Kongowea” said the Governor.
He added that plans are underway to expand Links Road to a dual carriageway.
The project Transaction Advisory Consortium includes Deloitte Consulting Ltd, Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Pvt Ltd, and supported by HP GauffIngenieure, Earthcare Services Ltd, IsemeKamau and Maema Advocates, and DLA Cliffe Dekker Hofmeyr.
The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) will be the designated contracting authority for the Project.
